Well, there are all sorts of motivations for running. Getting fit, losing weight, winning races. And then there's Strava and the running climb challenge that motivated me to run up mountains,this month.

But what made me run those extra metres up to 2642m and the Col du Galibier in the French Alps? A photo opportunity

On one of the last bends on the road up to the Col du Galibier, there is a professional photographer taking photos, mostly of road cyclist in front of the stunning backdrop  of the mountains. It was the prospect of a photo with Gav on his bike and the Jacks that persuaded me to go that extra mile (actually around a kilometre).

And, in the process, I clocked 719m more on July's Strava Run Climb challenge so there's now only 174m to go...
